A center-left Democratic group is tying MAGA Republicans to No Labels, the organization trying to put a bipartisan unity ticket together for the 2024 presidential election.

Groups such as Third Way have been campaigning against No Labels, pushing the idea that a third-party ticket would act as a spoiler and only help former President Donald Trump secure the White House.

“For Valentine’s Day, we are spotlighting a special relationship: MAGA and No Labels,” a Third Way email reads. “There’s so much that Trump’s GOP loves about No Labels. Independent experts agree that they will be a spoiler that benefits Trump, and No Labels’ own polling shows they hand him a 5-point advantage in a three-way race. Best of all, No Labels’ plans to force a contingent election would throw the election to the House, allowing Republicans to elect Trump in the most dangerous way possible.”

The Democratic group included links to several interviews in which Trump, his campaign manager Chris LaCivita, and Republican allies, such as Trump’s former counselor Kellyanne Conway, expressed how a third-party ticket would bode ill for President Joe Biden.

Speaking to Fox News last month, Trump said groups such as No Labels select “candidates that failed in other parties,” adding, “some of these third parties, many of them help me a lot if the Democrats are not happy with it.”

No Labels founder and CEO Nancy Jacobson repeatedly has pushed back against claims that the group is working as a spoiler, saying organizers will only go forward with a third-party ticket after Super Tuesday in March when a Trump-Biden matchup will become clearer.

“We will not spoil for either side,” Jacobson told NBC News last year. “The only reason to do this is to win.”

Third Way has worked with groups on the opposite side of the Democratic spectrum, such as progressive organization Move On, to campaign against No Labels.

“MAGA Republicans know that No Labels helps Trump,” the Third Way email reads. “Their love for this spoiler effort should be a warning to everyone in the anti-Trump coalition.”
