Great American Family actor Trevor Donovan shared his love for being able to work for the conservative television network, saying in a recent interview that he enjoys creating “morally uplifting and inspiring” movies.

Donovan, who previously starred in a multitude of Hallmark Channel movies, left the network last year to join rival Great American Family. The actor said part of the reason he enjoys working with GAF is because it helps bring his family together.

“I love being able to make these movies that are morally uplifting and inspiring,” he said in an interview with Christian movie review organization Movieguide. “It just sets a good example for people watching, and it’s cool to see my little niece watching along with my parents and grandparents. So yeah, couldn’t be happier.”

Donovan also said he is looking forward to returning to work with Great American Family on a biopic about former President Ronald Reagan, in which he plays a supporting role. The film, simply called REAGAN, stars Dennis Quaid as the 40th president of the United States.

In addition to starring in films with Great American Family, Donovan is also set to host the Movieguide Awards, which will air on Great American Family at 8 p.m. Thursday.

Earlier this month, Great American Media, the owner of Great American Family, announced it made a multi-year deal with actor Mario Lopez, who is set to play a major part in its 2024 Christmas season. Lopez, a 50-year-old father of three children, said that “family is the most important thing to me” in this part of his life and described joining Great American Media as “immensely fulfilling.”
