Former Secretary of State Hilary Clinton is set to release a memoir this fall, just in time to deliver what she calls a “warning” to voters in the 2024 election.

Clinton’s book is titled Something Lost, Something Gained: Reflections on Life, Love, and Liberty. The memoir, described as the “testament to the idea that the personal is political, and the political is personal,” is set to be released under two months before the presidential election.

On Tuesday, a press release from Clinton’s publisher described the memoir as containing her “unvarnished views on politics, democracy, the threats we face.” The press release goes on to add, “We also hear her fervent and persuasive warning to all American voters. ”

Clinton has used similar language dating back to her 2016 presidential race against Donald Trump. During that campaign, she often warned voters that he was a “threat” to democracy. Three years after she lost, the failed Democratic candidate called Trump an “illegitimate president.”

Since 2016, Clinton has continued to propagate warnings that another Trump term would pose an existential threat to the country. In December 2021, the former secretary of state told Today that another four years of Trump could spell “the end of our democracy.” As she prepares to launch her new memoir, Clinton told Democracy Docket’s podcast in April that “the kind of threats that you hear coming out of Donald Trump should scare every American.”

Clinton has become a critical surrogate for President Joe Biden as he ramps up his reelection campaign against Trump. Earlier this month, she appeared at a fundraiser that hauled in nearly $8 million for the Democratic Party.
