The first day of the Republican National Convention was jam-packed with headline news between Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) getting the vice presidential nomination and former President Donald Trump entering the arena after his assassination attempt. But in between, there were notable guests and plenty of colorful delegates.

Here are some sights and scenes from Milwaukee as spotted by the Washington Examiner staff.

Florida man rewards his state with best real estate

The Florida delegation had the best seats at the Fiserv Forum arena — front and center. This was a change from 2016 when Trump was first nominated for president as a New York resident. Then the former real estate mogul rewarded the Empire State with the best location. Trump has since declared his Florida Mar-a-Lago estate as home. This year, New York is off to stage right.

Enes Freedom and Vivek Ramaswamy have a moment

Enes Kanter Freedom, a former Knicks basketball player, was spotted at the Fiserv Forum taking photos with adoring fans during the Republican convention. Freedom was also spotted saying hello to former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy and former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy. “I just think he is a good choice. He’s an original thinker,” Ramaswamy said of Vance. “I think Trump-Vance is probably the most formidable presidential ticket that I’ve seen in my lifetime.”

Rapper Forgiato Blow spotted

Kurt Jantz, professionally known as Forgiato Blow, attended the first day of the Republican convention at the Fiserv Forum on July 15, 2024, in Milwaukee. Jantz is a self-proclaimed pioneer of hip-hop MAGA rap. MAGA fashion choices

Delegates from each state were sporting patriotic, Trump, and red gear on the first day of the convention.

But the Texas delegation in particular was hard to miss. The attendees donned matching cowboy hats on the convention floor.
