A top Democratic strategist is urging his party to take action and replace the top of the ticket as polling shows President Joe Biden is set to lose his high-stakes reelection bid this November.

James Carville is a prominent Democratic figure who advised former President Bill Clinton’s successful 1992 campaign, among numerous other races.

On Wednesday, he issued a reaction to polling revealing voters are not confident in Biden and want him to drop out.

“Well this ain’t very good,” Carville said in a post to X responding to a survey showing Biden losing ground to Trump in 14 states

“Nor is this,” the Democrat added, reacting to another poll revealing nearly two-thirds of Democrats want Biden to step down from his bid for a second term.

Carville’s comments came after a key House Democrat called on Biden to allow a younger candidate to take the party’s mantle of leadership.

Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) said on Wednesday that it is time for Biden to “pass the torch.”

With Schiff, Carville, and other prominent Democrats urging the incumbent president to drop his reelection bid, momentum has grown on Wednesday for Biden to be replaced.

While Carville warns the clock is ticking, he continues to hold out hope for his party’s chance to retain the White House come November. “The good news is there is still time to change direction, the bad news is time is running out!” he added in his posts.
