Country music star John Rich is reveling in the success of his hit song “Progress” and is poised to offer his fans an acoustic performance in a celebratory livestream event.

The song, in which Rich slams liberal “progress,” was released last week on Truth Social and Rumble and quickly rose to No. 1 on the Apple iTunes song chart, where it remains on top.

“FRIENDS! One week ago today I released my song #PROGRESS on Truth Social and Rumble…within 6 hours it was the #1 most downloaded song across all genres on Itunes,” Rich said in a tweet Friday. “It REMAINS at #1 today thanks to all of the massive support from you all! I’m humbled by your support. #ThankYou.”

Rich, who is half of the country music duo Big & Rich, sings about challenging liberal viewpoints while addressing the division that has emerged in the United States.

“They say building back better will make America great,” Rich sings toward the beginning. “If that’s the wave of the future, all I’ve got to say is,” he continues before the chorus: “Stick your progress where the sun don’t shine. Keep your big mess away from me and mine. If you leave us alone, well, we’d all be just fine.”

As previously reported by the Washington Examiner, “Progress,” when it first premiered, beat out new releases from Billie Eilish and Lizzo, as well as “Running Up That Hill” by Kate Bush. Rich celebrated his triumph over what he called the music industry “machine” as it strayed from the beaten path and premiered on Truth Social and Rumble.

Devin Nunes, a former congressman who is now CEO of former President Donald Trump’s social media platform, Truth Social, touted the success of Rich’s “beautiful” song during an interview Friday on Newsmax and remarked on how it is an “incredible story” how the single rose to No. 1 in such an unconventional way: via the partnership between Truth Social and YouTube-alternative video platform Rumble. Nunes also said he was breaking some news about an event for this weekend.

“John Rich is so excited, he’s going to do with me on Sunday a livestream, so we’re going to have our first-ever Truth Social celebration party, and he’s going to play acoustically on a livestream with him and I,” Nunes said. “I’m going to interview him and maybe a couple other people … on Sunday afternoon because John is just so excited and he’s so thankful — and what a gentleman and a patriot.”
