Pete Buttigieg was in the running to be Kamala Harris’ running mate.

Buttigieg lost out to Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.

And then Pete Buttigieg made a fool out of himself with this insane rant on TV.

Pete Buttigieg falsely claims Democrats are the party of freedom

Buttigieg showed up on Jen Psaki’s MSNBC show to keep his name in the minds of Democrat Party voters should Harris and Walz lose in November.

In the interview, Buttigieg made the bizarre claim that the Walz selection showed Democrats are the “party of freedom.”

“Yes, I mean, it’s a classically Midwestern way to put forward this simple point that is how Republicans, today’s Trump Republican Party, really lost the claim that conservatives and Republicans used to make on being the party of freedom,” Buttigieg stated.

Walz – like Kamala Harris – wants to ban guns.

During the pandemic, Democrats became the party of forcing children to wear masks in schools and requiring adults to take the COVID vaccine to go to work.

Democrats also support censoring speech they don’t like and banning gas powered cars as well as stoves.

But according to Buttigieg, freedom means taxpayer-funded abortions on demand, up until birth.

“You know, as you know, for years, I have believed that Democrats need to talk about that more. And we’re seeing that in such effective form in this campaign. She has made freedom a key theme of her campaign,” Buttigieg continued.

“I saw Governor Shapiro tonight also speaking powerfully in his remarks in Philadelphia to the importance of freedom. And Governor Walz captured it so well when he said that you can’t claim to be about freedom when you are invading people’s family decisions and health care decisions the way today’s GOP has ever since Trump demolished the right to choose,” Buttigieg added.

A switch in messaging

When Joe Biden was the candidate, the Democrats messaging focused on how Donald Trump was a threat to democracy.

That framing fell flat with the voters as it was Joe Biden threatening to end democracy by weaponizing the justice system to go after his political opponent.

Harris switched up that messaging to try and instead gaslight voters into thinking a vote for Democrats is a vote for freedom.

Buttigieg reacted with glee to this switch.

“And, again, I just love the formulation that brings it back down to basics, and in a way that I think is really going to connect with a lot of people who are tuning into this campaign, especially with all the change at the top of the ticket, asking that one question that every campaign is fundamentally about, which is, what does this mean for me and how is my future going to be different if it’s this leader versus the other leader?” Buttigieg concluded.

What is clear is that Democrats were playing a losing hand with Biden as the nominee.

The Party switched candidates and switched messages without the voters getting any say in the matter.
