Kaylee McGhee White argued the Democratic Party is unable to move on from the “vindictive” mindset it is entwined with and that attempts at the Democratic National Convention are failing.

White, the Restoring America editor for the Washington Examiner, made her assessment when asked how many speakers at the DNC, such as President Joe Biden and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, have warned about the danger of former President Donald Trump becoming president again. While attending the DNC in Chicago, White said she visited an anti-Israel protest a few blocks away, during which she realized these protesters have “the exact same ideology” the Democratic Party has spent years running on.

“These kids didn’t get terms like ‘settler colonialism’ or ‘oppression’ or ‘genocide’ from nowhere. They got them from Democratic-controlled institutions,” White said on Fox News’s The Ingraham Angle. “From universities, from corporations. And that’s why Joe Biden got up on that stage last night and could not condemn them. Because he actually shares their ideology, and it’s vindictive. It’s angry. And that is why no matter how hard they try to push the joyful front, they can’t do it.”

White also said she got the feeling that DNC attendees were “perpetually stuck in 2016,” when Trump won the presidential election against Clinton. She then referenced how Trump’s campaign wrote on social media that Trump’s name was mentioned 134 times during the DNC on Monday night, while immigration was mentioned just eight times and the economy was mentioned “even less.”

“They don’t want to talk about the issues,” White said. “They don’t want to move forward. They want this to be about Donald Trump.”

The DNC is set to continue for another two days, with Wednesday’s headline speaker being Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN), Vice President Kamala Harris’s 2024 running mate. Other speakers set for Wednesday include former President Bill Clinton and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).

While many Democrats are attending the DNC in Chicago, Trump is spending the week conducting campaign rallies in a few battleground states, visiting Pennsylvania on Monday. The former president is scheduled to visit North Carolina on Wednesday and Arizona on Friday.
