Concerns over the Biden-Harris border crisis have surged amid a wave of horrific news stories of crimes conducted by suspected illegal immigrants, and a new poll shows that Americans blame “border czar” Vice President Kamala Harris.
In the survey for the National Sheriffs’ Association provided to Secrets, just 29% approved of the job Harris has done to fix the “root causes” of illegal immigration, with 49% grading her a “D” or “F.”
And support for a border wall, started during the Trump administration, has grown to 65%. Surprisingly, 50% of Democrats want the border wall completed or expanded.
The reasons are simple, according to Sheriff Mark Dannels of Cochise County, Arizona. More than ever, Americans see illegal immigrants as a big problem in their community.
Dannels, the National Sheriffs’ Association’s border security chairman, said the share of Americans who think migrants are a problem for their community has increased sharply from 50% in May 2023 to 69% this month.
“Hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants are flooding the southern border as the massive onslaught of cartels brings illegal guns, national security threats, deadly fentanyl, human trafficking, and child and female exploitation into every American community,” he said in an analysis of the group’s poll conducted by TIPP.
The sheriffs also polled on one of the criminal cases involving an illegal immigrant who allegedly paid the mother of a 12-year-old to have sex with her child in Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin.

The survey found that 48% blame Harris and President Joe Biden for the alleged assault by the Nicaraguan illegal immigrant. “Surprisingly, even a third of Democrats blame Harris and Biden,” Dannels said.
It is just one of several stories about illegal immigrants allegedly assaulting and killing Americans this year and is a problem weighing on the presidential election.
