Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) is accusing her congressional opponent, Whitney Fox, of allowing her supporters “to publicly dox, coordinate, and solicit individuals to send threatening packages to my home address.”

The congresswoman noted what appears to be a Facebook comment that reads: “If she is ‘hiding,’ I know where she lives if anyone is interested in sending her a love letter or……something. She dwells riiiiiight around the corner.” Luna has reported the harassment to local authorities and the FBI.

“I have had threats made, things sent to my office, etc. Violence in politics is never acceptable and should never be condoned,” Luna said in a post on X. “Female members also happen to be the most targeted for violence and harassment. The fact that this went on for weeks is not only abhorrent, but also it is shameful.”

The congresswoman also said her district, Florida’s 13th Congressional District, “has never been a winnable seat for Democrats.”

“However, the irresponsible rhetoric and attempt to dupe the district into thinking otherwise is what led to this,” she added, also saying, “When you label people a threat to democracy and attempt to dehumanize/lie about them, violence occurs.”

The Washington Examiner reached out to the Fox campaign regarding these allegations but did not receive a response by the time of publication.

Luna said that she has also received “antisemitic and sexually harassing” text messages from someone who claimed they worked in Gov. Greg Abbott‘s (R-TX) office seeking to help her “beat Fox.” When she replied that she wasn’t worried about her opponent, the person made a sexually harassing claim about her body and accused her of being “fake Jewish,” according to text messages the Luna campaign shared with the Washington Examiner. Luna’s campaign said the number was unregistered, and the Washington Examiner confirmed this, also reaching out to Abbott’s office regarding the alleged wrongful characterization.

It is unclear whether these messages were in any way related to the alleged doxing. Luna’s campaign alleges it was someone tied to an anti-GOP group looking to gain info to swing her race. She has reported those messages to the FBI as well.

The Washington Examiner put in a records request for Luna’s complaint and is awaiting a response from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office. The FBI said it could “neither confirm nor deny the existence of a specific investigation” and does not comments on “complaints and tips.”

Despite Luna’s suggestion that the 13th district isn’t winnable for Democrats, polls have suggested it could be a competitive race.
