With less than three weeks until Election Day, Trump was in New York City’s neighborhood of the Bronx Thursday to rally support. This was Trump’s most recent visit since hosting a rally earlier this year, proving his focus on garnering votes in the traditionally blue district.

New York did not elect Trump in either the 2020 or the 2016 election. The last time New York elected a Republican for president was Ronald Reagan in 1984. The state elected Reagan for both of his terms. Reagan also made a campaign stop in the Bronx ahead of his first win where , at the time, he addressed the National Urban League Conference.

This year, the Bronx elected its first Republican city council member in 50 years. Kristy Marmorato is also the first female Republican member ever elected.
