Billionaire Elon Musk told podcaster Joe Rogan on Monday that the “Kamala Harris puppet regime” would never allow his social media platform X to exist and would likely “sic the DOJ” on his company. During a lengthy sit-down interview on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, which garnered over 1.2 million viewers in the first two hours, Musk talked about how he felt it was important to buy Twitter after watching the growth of censorship and de-platforming on social media.

He admitted that the acquisition of the platform was “a crazy move” and was “way overpriced.”

The X executive said he’s still navigating “advertiser boycotts” by “left-wing NGOs” with “Orwellian names.”

“Some of the boycott is starting to lift and I think if Trump wins, I think we’ll probably see most of the boycott lift,” Musk said to Rogan.

He added, “But if Kamala wins, we will see that boycott get stronger. And they will freaking shut down [X].”

“There’s no way that the Kamala Harris puppet regime would allow X to exist,” Musk noted.

Rogan asked Musk, “You really think they will be able to shut it down though? Is there a pathway to that?”

“Uh, yes,” Musk responded.

“What would they do?” Rogan asked.

“Well, they can sic the DOJ on [X]. They have had this whole thing on hate speech, misinformation, or whatever, but they are the ones pushing misinformation. That doesn’t stop them from filing massive lawsuits and using the DOJ,” he said.

Rogan applauded Musk for buying the social media platform.

“If it wasn’t for you buying that and changing Twitter, I don’t think we’d be where we are at right now,” Rogan said to Musk on the eve of the election, adding, “It was a pivotal moment. I think historically when people look back on it, it’s going to be a pivotal moment in this very bizarre fight for the freedom of information.”

“At the time, I think I said, ‘Look, this is existential to the United States. It’s existential to democracy,’” Musk replied.

“If you don’t have freedom of speech, you don’t have democracy. If you don’t have freedom of speech, people cannot make an informed vote. If they are just being fed propaganda and there is no freedom of speech, democracy is an illusion,” Musk said about why he bought X.

The SpaceX CEO gave the example of how the DOJ has targeted his spacecraft and satellite company for “not hiring asylum-seekers.” He explained that it was illegal to hire asylum-seekers because of the nature of his company’s sensitive weapons technology. It is only legal for his company to hire permanent residents of the United States, but the DOJ decided to launch “a giant lawsuit” against SpaceX anyway.

“This Orwell situation is getting insane,” he said. “You’re damned if you do and you’re damned if you don’t.”

Musk told Rogan that the growth of the “vast suffocating federal bureaucracy” is expanding every year with roughly two new federal agencies a year. He added that the bureaucracy will eventually lead to it being impossible to “get anything done” in our country.

Musk won a legal battle on Monday when a Philadelphia judge ruled to allow Musk to continue to do a daily million-dollar giveaway to swing state voters who signed his free speech petition.

His mother, Maye Musk, said on Fox News that her son has been targeted by Democrats.

“They go after Elon for every hiccup, he gets a court order,” Maye Musk said on Fox on Monday. “This is pretty much Democratic judges or court orders. The Democrats are really after him, and most of the judges are Democrats.”

Entrepreneur David Sacks warned in a recent podcast that a Harris administration would lead to “lawfare all over the place.”

“I’m definitely not at the top of the list. Elon’s at the top of the list,” Sacks said. “He has no choice but to go all in. They’re already doing lawfare against him.”
