Shortly after midnight on Wednesday morning, after former President Donald Trump built a lead in both the popular and Electoral College votes, MSNBC analyst, and DC bureau chief of Mother Jones, David Corn accused Russia of interfering in the 2024 election to help the Republican nominee.

“Russia again attacked a US election,” Corn posted on his X account. “To help Trump. This should be a big deal.”

Corn’s comments echo claims from 2016 after Trump defeated Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton in the presidential election. Many Democrats accused Trump of colluding with Russians to help him win the presidential election that year.

Corn continued to insinuate a connection between Trump and Moscow with more social media posts. Responding to a picture of Trump talking to SpaceX CEO Elon Musk and UFC owner Dana White, Corn commented, “Just what Moscow wants.”

Later, the MSNBC analyst continued with anti-Trump social media posts while commenting on an analysis that showed Latinos in Michigan breaking for Trump, 60-35. While the original poster described the shift among the Latino demographic in Michigan as “a revolution,” Corn preferred a different analysis.

“Perhaps massive deportations will affect how they see Trump,” Corn commented.

Corn also took to calling Trump a fascist, a familiar insult in the last few weeks of the presidential campaign made by many people who did not support the former president. Corn repeated such claims and inferred that the country had “met its Judgement Day.”

“We don’t have the final results, but clearly Donald Trump’s politics of hate and his fascism have not been soundly rejected,” Corn posted. “America has met its Judgement Day, and it’s ugly.”
