Rumors are swirling about whether Trump will call a recess for the Senate and appoint his own Cabinet as his picks become more controversial. Presidents have rarely wielded this authority. However, with a 53-seat majority in the Senate, the Republican Party has the power to nominate his entire Cabinet if they cooperate.

They are ready for a change; we need to bring prices down; we need to bring housing prices, grocery prices, gasoline prices down,” Whatley said on The Five Saturday. “We need to unleash American energy. We need to stop the invasion we’re seeing coming across our southern border, and we need to make sure the world knows we are going to protect our allies, and we’re going to punish our enemies, and we are going to be the leaders we need to be.”

Lara Trump resigned from the RNC co-chair position earlier this month, which has prompted speculation that she is leaving the door open to take over for Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL). Trump has been a Florida resident for the past three years.
So far, Republican National Committee Treasurer KC Crosbie has announced her candidacy to replace Lara Trump. The president-elect has yet to comment on the race or endorse any candidate, after previously endorsing his daughter-in-law.
