Yet another “legal anvil” over former President Donald Trump has people in his inner circle panicking despite their show of confidence in public, according to a reporter.
Jonathan Lemire, Politico’s White House bureau chief, appeared Tuesday on MSNBC’s Morning Joe and talked about how the “fallout” from the FBI raid on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida is adding to a long list of other legal concerns.
“Those in his orbit that I’ve been talking to over the last handful of days, a real increase in worry,” Lemire said. “This is something the former president has been able to skate, as we have documented many times, from trouble before. There’s a sense, though, that the walls are closing in a little bit. As much as they are blustering, a sense of panic and deep concern has settled in at Mar-a-Lago and Bedminster, where the former president is now.”
Other legal challenges that Trump faces include investigations into Jan. 6, inquiries into his business empire in New York, and the election investigation in Fulton County, Georgia.

The FBI raid, which appears to be centered on the handling of documents, is “yet another legal anvil poised over the head of Donald Trump,” Lemire said.
