President-elect Donald Trump and his family landed in the Washington, D.C., area on Saturday night as celebratory events surrounding his inauguration on Monday are already underway.
Video posted to X showed Trump, incoming first lady Melania Trump, and their son, Barron, boarding an Air Force plane in Palm Beach, Florida, on Sunday afternoon, with the president-elect waving to supporters as he is set to be inaugurated as the 47th president in two days. They landed at Dulles International Airport in Virginia shortly after 7 p.m. Eastern.
On Trump’s schedule for Saturday night is a reception dinner with fireworks at his golf club in Sterling, Virginia, which is about 30 miles from Washington. He also has a reception with his Cabinet nominees, many of whom had hearings before the Senate this week, and Vice President-elect J.D. Vance.

Then on Sunday, Trump will visit Arlington National Cemetery, where he will attend the wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. He is also holding a MAGA rally at Capital One Arena in Washington and will be delivering remarks at a candlelight dinner.
That all sets the stage for Inauguration Day on Monday, which was moved indoors as frigid temperatures are expected. Trump will now deliver his inaugural address from inside the Capitol rotunda.
