Singer Madonna expressed sadness on Tuesday for the “new government” under President Donald Trump, which she says is “dismantling” rights for LGBT groups through executive orders.

“It’s so sad to watch our new Government slowly dismantling all the Freedoms we have been fighting for and WON over the years,” she said in a post on X on Tuesday.

Her post also included an emoji of a pride flag, a broken heart, and a picture of the singer staring blankly at the camera.

“Don’t give up the Fight!” the “Like a Virgin” singer added.

“Why do you want to sterilize kids?” activist Billboard Chris responded to her post.

The president has enacted a slew of executive orders since his first day in office, which have included deportations of “criminal” migrants, dropping diversity, equity, and inclusion programs in federal offices, pulling out of the Paris Agreement, and cutting federal support for gender transitions for people under 16.

President Trump issued an executive order late on Monday night to ban transgender troops from serving openly in the military. On Tuesday, GLBTQ Legal Advocates & Defenders, or GLAD Law, and the National Center for Lesbian Rights filed a federal lawsuit challenging the executive order.
