Singer Demi Lovato made headlines earlier this month when announcing a return to she/her pronouns after identifying for over a year as nonbinary.
However, that’s not the only transformation she’s made this year.
Her latest album, Holy FVCK, has abandoned the pop sound that fans have been used to, shifting to rock.
“Like a serpent in the garden, I am truth, and I am darkness. I’m an angel, I’m a demon. Just depends on what you’re feeling,” Lovato sings.

Lovato hinted at the change earlier this year on Instagram.
She also gets dark on “29,” which is believed to be about her relationship with actor Wilmer Valderrama.
“Finally 29. 17 would never cross my mind. Thought it was a teenage dream, a fantasy, but it was yours, it wasn’t mine,” she sings.
