The California Highway Patrol released photos and videos from the night the husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

In the newly unveiled footage, Paul Pelosi, 82, is heard slurring his words as police question him over his level of intoxication and direct him through sobriety tests. Pelosi pleaded guilty to one charge of DUI on Tuesday in exchange for a five-day prison sentence and additional penalties.

Dashcam footage obtained by the Washington Examiner showed Pelosi informing an officer on the scene that he drank a glass of champagne and a glass of wine that night. One of the officers noted that Pelosi was grasping the patrol vehicle to maintain his balance.

Photos released by the California Highway Patrol also show Pelosi with bruises on his hands after the collision.

The California Highway Patrol managed the case, but CalFire medics and Napa deputies were the first to respond to the accident, Fox News reported.

At one point during an exchange with officers, Pelosi explained that “he’s a high-profile person.”

As part of his plea arrangement, Pelosi will be placed on three years of probation with credit for the time served, pay a $150 fine, perform eight hours of a court work program, enroll in a course about drinking and driving, and use an ignition interlock device for a year, TMZ reported.

On the night of May 28, Pelosi got behind the wheel of his 2021 Porsche 911 toward the family’s country house in Napa Valley. At one point, he attempted to cross the highway but was rammed by a Jeep, the New York Times reported.

No one was injured, but the other driver later claimed to have subsequently experienced pain in his neck, right arm, and right shoulder, according to court documents reported by Fox News.

Officers who responded quickly concluded Pelosi demonstrated “signs of impairment,” per court documents. A subsequent test pegged his blood alcohol content at .082% — above the legal limit for driving. Pelosi claimed to have drunk that night from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. local time, and the crash happened around 10 p.m.

He was then booked at the Napa County Jail and released hours later after posting bail, according to court records. All of this transpired while his wife, Nancy Pelosi, was on the East Coast to give a speech at Brown University the following day.

The House speaker’s office has declined multiple requests for comment about her husband’s accident last May and has refrained from commenting on social media.

Paul Pelosi has come under heightened scrutiny in recent weeks, including for revelations that he had ties to a company that received over $1.7 million in loan forgiveness from the Paycheck Protection Program COVID-19 pandemic relief program, according to the report.
