A charity benefiting California Highway Patrol officers has revoked Paul Pelosi‘s lifetime membership after a drunk driving crash in which he flashed his card to officers when questioned.
CHP 11-99 said the revocation was due to Pelosi violating the membership’s “terms and conditions,” according to a statement Thursday.

“After evaluating the events that led to Mr. Pelosi’s arrest and conviction, we are revoking Mr. Pelosi’s lifetime membership with the CHP 11-99 Foundation effective immediately. A letter to Mr. Pelosi informing him of this termination was mailed out yesterday. The mere presentation of his 11-99 Foundation identification credentials to law enforcement made it appear that he was presenting them for preferential treatment whether that was the case or not which violates the terms and conditions he agreed to on his membership application,” the group said.
The group also stated it has asked Pelosi for all membership items to be returned and said it will refund him of his donations. CHP 11-99 says these measures are “the standard process we follow for any membership termination.”
Pelosi, the husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), pleaded guilty to one charge of DUI on Tuesday for crashing his Porsche while having a blood alcohol content over the legal limit, at 0.082%, in May. He was sentenced to three years of probation and five days in jail. However, Paul Pelosi has already served two days, received credit for two additional days, and will participate in a work program for the remaining time, Politico reported.

Nancy Pelosi was not with her husband in California at the time of the crash, as she was preparing to speak at Brown University the following day. Her office has declined multiple requests for comment on the accident, and she has refrained from commenting on the matter on social media.
