A woman in New York City has been hospitalized in critical condition after getting hit by a car and being impaled onto a fence.
The anonymous 59-year-old woman was walking in the Bronx on Friday evening when a Lexus SUV went into the wrong lane and hit the woman, pinning her onto a metal fence along the outside of the apartment complex on that same corner.
It did not stop moving until it hit the apartment building, according to police on the scene.

Police reported the woman was taken to Jacobi Hospital in critical condition, and the driver was also transported there in stable condition. Meanwhile, the car retained minimal damage, according to photos, while the fence was mangled and torn apart.
The Lexus driver did not face any criminal charges, as police suspect the ordeal was accidental.
