The Pittsburgh Steelers will be adorning a new sticker on their helmets to honor their late quaterback Dwayne Haskins Jr.

All players will have a yellow sticker with Haskins’ number, 3, on their helmets for the rest of the year in his memory. Haskins died in April after getting hit by a dump truck in Florida. He had played with the Steelers since 2021.

Steelers Director of Communications Burt Lauten announced the sticker along with a picture in a tweet Friday.

Haskins was in South Florida at the time to train with other quarterbacks, running backs, and wide receivers for a training session. Later, it was revealed his blood alcohol levels were at 0.20 when he died, according to a report citing the autopsy. That is roughly 2.5 times the legal limit for Florida drivers, according to the Broward County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The Ohio State graduate was the first-round draft pick for the Washington Football Team and the No. 15 pick overall in 2019. In 2018, he was a finalist for the Heisman Trophy, receiving the third-most votes for the collegiate award.

The athlete, 24, is survived by his wife Kalabrya Gondrezick-Haskins.
