There are multiple reasons that 2026 is shaping up to be one of the best years economically since Ronald Reagan was president in the 1980s.
Former President Joe Biden and the Democrats implemented many of the same policies that led to the stagflation — low economic growth and high inflation — of the late 1970s and early 1980s under former President Jimmy Carter.
Reagan won the 1980 presidential election in a landslide over Carter with a mandate to get the country’s economy moving again and lower inflation, and he succeeded.
