President Joe Biden called Speaker Nancy Pelosi after an assailant violently attacked her husband inside their San Francisco home.
Biden voiced his support for Paul Pelosi, 82, in a phone call, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said in a statement. Paul Pelosi, a prominent investor, was attacked with a hammer in a home invasion early Friday morning.
“The President is praying for Paul Pelosi and for Speaker Pelosi’s whole family … and asks that the family’s desire for privacy be respected,” Jean-Pierre said in a statement.
“The President continues to condemn all violence,” she added.
