Former President Donald Trump and Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) will be holding dueling rallies in Florida the weekend before the midterm elections.
The DeSantis campaign will host a rally in Hillsborough County on Sunday, Nov. 6 at a hall with a capacity of approximately 700 people, while Trump will host a rally more than 250 miles away in Miami on the same day, according to the New York Times.
Trump’s event is one part of a busy weekend for the former president, who is also scheduled to appear at a rally that Saturday for Dr. Mehmet Oz (R), who is running to represent Pennsylvania in the United States Senate. Trump’s Nov. 6 rally will be to support Sen. Marco Rubio (R), who is seeking reelection for the U.S. Senate against Rep. Val Demings (D).

“Senator Rubio is grateful to have President Trump’s support and looks forward to having him in Miami to help deliver Republican victories for candidates at every level,” a spokesperson for Rubio told Politico.
DeSantis, who is considered to be a front-runner for the GOP nomination if he runs in the presidential primaries in 2024, will also be campaigning in support of other prominent Republican leaders as the country heads toward Election Day. DeSantis will appear at a rally in New York on Saturday to support Republican hopeful Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-NY) in his quest to be the governor of New York.
DeSantis is running for reelection against former governor and Rep. Charlie Crist (D-FL) and is currently leading in polling, according to FiveThirtyEight.
