President Donald Trump took to his Truth Social account on Monday night to post a 31-second video clip of an Iranian ammunition depot being hit during a U.S. airstrike with bunker buster bombs. It resulted in a successive chain of explosions producing immense blasts of fire and an enormous cloud, resembling a smaller mushroom cloud of smoke over the area.
The airstrike occurred in Isfahan, Iran, using 2,000-pound bunker busters, the Wall Street Journal reported. The video did not have any captions or comments from the president, and he did not post any other details about the military operation.
“A high volume of bunker busters, or penetrator munitions, were used for the strike,” an unnamed U.S. official told the Wall Street Journal.

Isfahan is Iran’s third-largest city, with a population of over 2.23 million, and is home to Iran’s Badr military air base, considered a vital location for Iran’s missile production capabilities, according to reports. The explosions from the airstrikes were so massive and powerful that they were detected by weather satellites, according to reports.
It is also of great strategic importance, as it is believed to be one of the country’s main uranium-enrichment sites, according to multiple sources. In June 2025, Iran reported to the International Atomic Energy Agency that it had constructed a new underground uranium enrichment facility. Much remains unknown about the facility, and IAEA officials are unsure whether centrifuges have been installed at Isfahan, as the organization has yet to inspect it, the World Nuclear Association reported.
