Maine Democratic Senate candidate Graham Platner is set to take the stage with Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) at a get-out-the-vote event in Bar Harbor on Friday at 7 p.m.

The event will cap off what has been a scandal-filled week for Platner, after news broke that he had sent sexually explicit text messages to women other than his wife during his current marriage. Following this news, a New York Times story broke on Thursday in which multiple women who dated Platner accused him of “unsettling” behavior.

Platner is the only major Democrat left running for the party’s Senate nomination in Maine after Gov. Janet Mills (D-ME) dropped her bid for the seat in April. The state’s primary is set for June 9. If scandal-ridden Platner wins the nomination, he will take on Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) in the November general election.
