Georgia Democrat Stacey Abrams, who recently failed to beat Gov. Brian Kemp (R-GA) in her second gubernatorial election bid, is releasing a children’s book next week.
Stacey’s Remarkable Books is set to release Dec. 13 and chronicles Abrams’s own life, with publisher Harper Collins saying, “This is another inspiring tale, based on a true story from Stacey Abrams’s childhood, about the life-changing power of books.”
“My new picture book, Stacey’s Remarkable Books, will be released on December 13. It is a story of how books take us on magical adventures and reveal other worlds and cultures—but best of all, how they bring us together,” Abrams tweeted Thursday.

On Dec. 15, the former Democratic candidate for Georgia governor will hold a virtual book launch moderated by The Hate U Give author Angie Thomas.
Thomas has been vocal in the past about her political positions, namely advocating abolishing prisons.
The book is being sold for $15.99 by Harper Collins.
This isn’t the first time Abrams has ventured into the children’s book genre. In 2021, she released Stacey’s Extraordinary Words, in which a young Abrams falls in love with words and competes in a spelling bee.

The book went on to become a No. 1 New York Times bestseller and won the NAACP Image Award.
On Nov. 8, Kemp beat Abrams easily, cruising to reelection. He fended off his Democratic opponent, winning by a nearly 10-point margin. Despite Kemp’s win, Trump-endorsed Republican Senate candidate Herschel Walker was ultimately defeated by Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA) in a Dec. 6 runoff election.
