Concha told audiences to “save this tape right now” when his prediction that Schumer would be defeated by a socialist comes true. His projection comes after numerous socialist candidates, backed by New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, won their primaries in New York on Tuesday.
“Chuck Schumer will not survive any primary challenger from the Democratic Socialists of America,” Concha said on Fox Business’s Varney & Co. Friday. “Especially if that candidate is Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.”
Schumer, who is not up for reelection until 2028, has not yet announced whether he will seek another term, as he continues to face growing pressure from within the Democratic Party from progressives.
While Ocasio-Cortez has not confirmed a Senate or presidential campaign for 2028, she has left the door open, avoiding reporters’ questions when pressed on the topic. The congresswoman told Fox News that she “may” run for Senate.
While Schumer used to have high approval ratings among voters, Concha said if Ocasio-Cortez runs for Senate, Schumer is “done.”
“[Schumer] used to be above 60% approval among New York voters, he’s now bogged down in the 30s,” Concha said. “And then you look at Hakeem Jeffries who is in the 20s.
“I think what people need to understand … is that Democratic socialists really don’t like MAGA Republicans, but they especially hate establishment Democrats,” Concha said.
Ocasio-Cortez and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) were leading figures in the far-left movement before Mamdani ran for mayor. Since then, political pundits have crowned Mamdani as “kingmaker” in the Democratic Party, as the socialist candidates he endorsed in New York won their primaries.
Concha warned that these far-left candidates are “not here to work” with the Democratic Party in its “current structure.”
TRUMP SAYS TOP DEMOCRATS LIKE SCHUMER ARE TOO ‘AFRAID’ TO FIGHT SOCIALIST INSURGENCY
“They are here to take over the party, and that’s what’s happening in major American cities,” Concha said. “Not just New York, Seattle has a socialist mayor, Washington, D.C., is going to have a socialist mayor, Los Angeles very well can have a socialist mayor.”
“One by one, these cities will fall because the establishment right now means status quo and Democrat voters, especially young ones with all the energy, don’t like the status quo right now,” he said.
