Vice President JD Vance announced Thursday that the Trump administration is stopping Microsoft’s ability to transfer employees on temporary H-1B foreign worker visas onto a pathway toward a more permanent green card through the Program Electronic Review Management labor certification.
“Microsoft laid off last year 6,000 American workers,” Vance told reporters. “At the same time, the company benefited from 6,300 H-1B visas and almost 3,000 green cards.
