Chris Christie called out President Joe Biden and his administration for seemingly sitting on the discoveries of classified documents at Biden’s residence and his previous workplace.
The former New Jersey governor appeared on ABC‘s This Week on Sunday to talk at length about the “political problem” Biden is facing.
First, “sensitive compartmented information” and top secret material was discovered at at the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement in November. These documents can pose “exceptionally grave damage” to national security if mishandled. Biden’s team informed the National Archives and Records Administration, which in turn apprised the DOJ. His lawyers then conducted a search of the president’s personal Wilmington, Delaware residence where more documents were discovered.
“Why did they wait to tell us?” Christie said. “I mean, they knew this before midterms.”

Christie suggested the timing of the announcement was political in nature.
“Who made the decision to not tell the American people six days before an election?” Christie said. “And if Donald Trump had not told people six days before an election, what would the conversation be about right now?”

At that time, he announced the appointment of U.S. Attorney Robert Hur to serve as special counsel in the matter.
