Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich slammed the Justice Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation as having levels of corruption “unprecedented in American history.”
Gingrich criticized the agencies when discussing the handling of the Hunter Biden investigation and probes against President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump regarding the alleged mishandling of classified documents.
GINGRICH PREDICTS MCCARTHY WILL HAVE MORE SUCCESS THAN MCCONNELL DESPITE MESSY START
“We have in the Justice Department and the FBI a level of corruption unprecedented in American history at the most senior levels. Not the average, everyday worker, but at the senior levels — the corruption’s there. It’s been there at least since the middle of the George W. Bush Administration. It has gotten sicker and sicker,” Gingrich told Maria Bartiromo on Fox News Channel’s Sunday Morning Features. “They have total contempt for the rule of law, they have total contempt for the news media.”
Gingrich pressed on his belief that corruption is the reason for disparate treatment of Hunter Biden from most individuals in his position.
“You see it with Hunter. You know, the fact is Hunter Biden was a drug addict doing business with Russia and China while advising his father on where to send secret documents. Can ask yourself, could it get weirder than that,” Gingrich asked.
The former house speaker also said he believes House Speaker Kevin McCarthy “has done very well” so far in his term.
