A Kansas man died this weekend after his dog shot him with his own rifle in a freak hunting accident, police said.

The Sumner County Sheriff’s Office said emergency units arrived within minutes of the ensuing 911 call, but Smith died from his injuries at the scene.
A fundraiser posted for Smith, who was a plumber in Wichita, remembered him as “a positive light.”
“Joe is absolutely the most unique individual I have had the pleasure of meeting. He was loved by all of us from all walks of life and loved the same,” the GoFundMe, which was organized by the company Smith worked for, Browns Plumbing Services, said.
“We will forever feel so blessed to have him in our lives for just a short time. We will never forget you, Joe,” the fundraiser added.
