“I’m not going to make this about me, this is a special city,” Philadelphia quarterback Jalen Hurts said after the game. “They deserve everything that’s going on. We’ve got one more [game].”
Hurts’s victory comes after defeating rookie San Francisco quarterback Brock Purdy, the team’s third-string quarterback who sat out nearly two quarters due to an elbow injury. Multiple injuries impacted the San Francisco line up this season, including injuries to first and second string quarterbacks Trey Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo.
Purdy joined the team as the last person to be drafted in the NFL last year.
Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes narrowly defeated Cincinnati quarterback Joe Burrow in a 23-20 game in the final few seconds of the AFC championship. Burrow narrowly defeated Mahomes and Kansas City in the 2022 championship game last year, in a game that went into overtime.
