A juvenile died Saturday after riding a bull at a North Carolina rodeo event.
The juvenile, whose identity has not been released by authorities, died while participating in the bull-riding segment of the Rafter K Rodeo Company, LLC event in King, North Carolina, according to a report.

The juvenile was identified as a boy by one witness who said she saw the boy dropped into the bullpen, get ready, and be let out of the gate.
Once the bullpen opened, the bull he was under bucked twice and the boy fell off, Amanda Paquette said.
After he fell, the bull stomped on his chest, she said.
EMTs rushed to the juvenile and began performing life-saving measures until Stokes County emergency services officials arrived, according to the report.
The juvenile suffered a cardiac arrest and was transported to a local hospital, where he died, the report noted.
In the wake of the accident, the rodeo company released a statement giving its condolences following the tragedy.
“Everyone here at Rafter K Rodeo Company, LLC would like to give our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the bull rider. Our sport is truly a family and we are so thankful for everyone that was there to help,” the statement read.

“We are thankful for our on-site EMTs, paramedics, and law enforcement that work so hard to care for the cowboys. This is a tragic event and words cannot describe the pain felt by this loss. We ask everyone to come together and pray for his family for comfort and healing in this difficult time.”
All individuals in the event must sign a consent form and acknowledge that rodeo participants can suffer personal injury or death, according to the report, and participants under 18 are required to submit a notarized form with the signature of a parent or guardian.
