President Joe Biden is set to embark on a California fundraising tour ahead of an expected announcement that he will run for reelection.
Biden, 80, is set to travel to a wealthy area of the solid-blue state, where he is expected to court donors, three sources familiar with the matter told Politico.
The trip is the latest of several signs that seem to indicate the president is planning on running for reelection in 2024.

The trip is expected to begin in Rancho Santa Fe, a grouping of wealthy estates close to San Diego. The presidential entourage will then travel to Los Angeles before crossing state lines into Las Vegas. The two-day trip is expected to happen over Monday and Tuesday.
Vice President Kamala Harris also targeted wealthy California donors on a trip recently. On Friday, Harris gave a speech at the San Franciscan suburb of Hillsborough.
Though Biden hasn’t announced his bid for reelection, first lady Jill Biden suggested that he has “pretty much” already decided to. His only Democratic challenger is Marianne Williamson, a self-help guru who announced her candidacy last week.
The White House seems unbothered by the challenge.

“I’m just not tracking that,” White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told the Washington Examiner on Monday when asked if the president was “annoyed” or “frustrated” that Williamson announced her candidacy before Biden.
“If I had a — what is it called? — a little globe here, a crystal ball, then I could tell you. A magic 8-ball, whatever, if I could feel her aura,” she said. “But I just don’t have anything to share on that.”
