Rep. Kat Cammack (R-FL) has accused President Joe Biden of “dragging his feet” on legislation regarding the origins of COVID-19, arguing that the president acting on the legislation would “open Pandora’s Box.”

Both the House and the Senate voted to pass the COVID Origins Act, which would force the Biden administration to declassify all information it has gathered on the origins of COVID-19, with the legislation now heading to Biden’s desk for signature.

“I think that the writing is on the wall for the Biden administration,” Cammack said during an appearance on Fox News on Saturday. “When you have Republicans and Democrats unanimously voting to declassify these intel reports, that’s pretty telling. And when you think about his reasons for dragging his feet, maybe it has to do with the fact that it really would force them to act. They would have to take action on China. They would have to take action on all of the funding sources for the W.H.O. for NIH, CDC, FDA. ”

Cammack added that Biden acting on the legislation would “open Pandora’s box” and expose “the deep-rooted collusion” between the Biden administration and social media companies that worked to censor opinions that disagreed on the subject of COVID-19

“This really is the worst thing that could happen for the Biden administration because it flies in the face of the narrative that they’ve been pushing for years,” Cammack said. “And I would say follow the money.”

On Friday, two reporters asked White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre what Biden would do with the COVID Origins Act after it passed unanimously by a vote of 419-0 in the House of Representatives. Jean-Pierre gave a noncommittal answer on what Biden would do with the legislation.

“We will continue to use every tool to figure out what happened here while also protecting classified information,” Jean-Pierre said. “We’re going to take a look at the bill. I just don’t have anything to share on how we’re going to move forward at this time.”
