At least two dozen people connected to Donald Trump, including staff members at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, were subpoenaed to testify about the former president’s handling of classified documents, a report published Thursday said.

Some of the staffers subpoenaed to speak in front of a federal grand jury were recorded on security footage moving boxes from the storage room where classified documents were discovered during an FBI raid last August.

“They’re casting an extremely wide net — anyone and everyone who might have seen something,” an unnamed source familiar with the Justice Department’s efforts told CNN.

Investigators subpoenaed the staffers concerning what they could have seen or heard during their daily activities around the resort, including whether they saw boxes or documents in Trump’s storage room or office, sources said. Other staffers called to testify include servers at the restaurants on the estate and a housekeeper.

Members of Trump’s inner circle have also been subpoenaed, including Trump’s communications aide Margo Martin, who testified in Washington, D.C., on Thursday.

The Justice Department has been investigating Trump’s alleged mishandling of classified records and obstruction of justice charges for nearly a year. FBI agents recovered more than 100 classified documents during a search of Mar-a-Lago last year.

Classified documents were also discovered at the homes and offices of President Joe Biden from when he was Barack Obama’s vice president. Mike Pence, who was Trump’s vice president, is also facing trouble concerning the finding of classified documents. Both discoveries were announced earlier this year, but some documents from Biden were found in October.
