With the indictment of former President Donald Trump possibly on the horizon, New York security agencies are reportedly collaborating ahead of expected safety needs.
Local, state, and federal law enforcement and security agencies are conducting preliminary security assessments and working on potential security measures to ensure things go smoothly if Trump is indicted and travels to New York.
TRUMP INDICTMENT IN STORMY DANIELS HUSH-MONEY PAYMENT INVESTIGATION ‘IMMINENT’
The agencies are working on security plans in and around the Manhattan Criminal Court, according to NBC News.
The agencies involved in the efforts are the New York Police Department, New York State Court Officers, the Secret Service, the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force, and the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, NBC reported.
News broke Friday that a criminal indictment of Trump was expected imminently. The indictment would be related to investigations around an improper payment to porn star Stormy Daniels.
Trump’s former attorney Michael Cohen pleaded guilty in 2018 to violating federal campaign finance law related to a $130,000 payment to the actress in 2016. The payment was to keep her quiet about an alleged affair with Trump.

Trump has maintained his innocence throughout the investigation, saying the affair never happened and that accusations are past the statute of limitations.
If Trump is indicted, it would be the first indictment of a former president in U.S. history.
