Nearly three quarters of Americans surveyed blamed illegal drug dealers for the fentanyl crisis.

A YouGov poll found that 74% of respondents blamed the drug dealers who sell fentanyl “a lot.” Fewer, some 43% blamed Mexico and China respectively. About the same, 40% blamed pharmaceutical companies and 38% blamed the U.S. government.

Other still victim-blamed, with 36% pointing the finger at those addicted.

Another majority, 57% found the crisis to be a “very serious” problem as another 45% personally know someone with an opioid addiction. Still only 35% of respondents approved of President Joe Biden’s handling of the fentanyl crisis, while 44% disapproved and 73% agreed the government could be doing more.

Meanwhile, there were only two pounds of fentanyl seized in all of 2013 comparied to over 10,000 pounds seized last year alone along the ports of entry, per the Washington Examiner’s Anna Giaritelli.
