The second distribution will go to retirees born between the 11th and 20th of a month, and it will be released on May 17, the third Wednesday of May. Some lawmakers have proposed raising the age at which citizens receive their full benefits from 67 to 70. Workers can already retire and collect Social Security as early as age 62, or delay retirement until they are 70, for a higher check.
