Former White House press secretary Jen Psaki shared her insight on the severity of the debt ceiling issue, reminding the nation that the world is watching.
Psaki appeared on Andrea Michelle Reports, a sister program to her own on MSNBC on Friday, lending her view on the debt ceiling negotiations that were interrupted by the G-7 summit in Japan this week.

“What’s important for people to understand is that when the president of the United States is at a summit, or even when he’s not, all of these world leaders and their teams are watching what’s happening in the United States,” Psaki said. “Is democracy going to last? Are they going to default? All of that makes the United States look weak on the world stage, and if you’re China, you’re probably rooting for default.”
Psaki also shared her opinion on 10 Democratic senators’ attempt to pressure President Joe Biden to utilize the 14th Amendment. She pointed out that it would have “legal challenges,” as it has never been invoked before.
