North Carolina law enforcement officials are asking for the public’s help to identify and locate the driver of a black SUV, who, officers believe, intentionally drove into a group of immigrant workers, leaving a number of people hospitalized.
In a statement from the Lincolnton Police Department Sunday, “at approximately 1:17PM, an Assault with a Vehicle occurred at Walmart located at 306 North Generals Blvd, Lincolnton, NC.” Lincoln is located about 30 minutes from Charlotte, the biggest city in the state.

“Six migrant workers were hit in what appears to be an intentional assault with a vehicle. All six were transported to Atrium Health – Lincoln with various injuries. None of the injuries appear to be life threatening.”
The statement also provided a description of the suspect’s vehicle described as, “an older model mid-size black Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) with a luggage rack.”
Officers also advised the public that the driver of the vehicle is believed to be an older white male.

Lincoln police said their investigation into a potential motive is ongoing.
The department has also provided information for anyone who may have details regarding the incident, urging the public to contact the Lincolnton Police Department at (704)-736-8900 and ask to speak to Detective M. Diallo, who is the lead investigator in this case.
