Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy will hold a press briefing in Nashville on Wednesday concerning a lawsuit he filed against the Department of Justice on Tuesday.
The lawsuit is related to the department’s failure to “substantively” respond to a Freedom of Information Act request filed in June. Ramaswamy claimed the request sought details about what White House officials communicated to Attorney General Merrick Garland and special counsel Jack Smith about the federal indictment of President Donald Trump for allegedly mishandling and retaining classified documents.

Ramaswamy also renewed the FOIA request Tuesday night and filed one new request related to Trump’s new indictment related to the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. Trump was indicted by a federal grand jury on Tuesday, and charged with three counts of conspiracy, and one charge of “obstruction of and attempt to obstruct an official proceeding.”
