The woman who went viral on social media for her meltdown on an American Airlines flight broke her silence on Saturday.

Tiffany Gomas, 38, was caught on camera tearfully leaving a boarded plane from Dallas to Orlando when she stopped in the middle of the aisle to offer an explanation why she was getting off the flight: “I’m telling you, I’m getting the f*** off, and there’s a reason why I’m getting the f*** off, and everyone can either believe it, or they cannot believe it. That motherf***** back there is not real.”

“First and foremost, I want to take full accountability for my actions,” Gomas explained in a video. “They were completely unacceptable. Distressed or not, I should have been … I should have been in control of my emotions. And that was not the case.”

As a result of the video of her going viral, memes of the moment were created. Gomas admitted she’d seen and “enjoyed so many of the memes.” However, she apologized for her “completely unnecessary” use of profanity in what she called her “bad moment … caught on camera for the whole world to see multiple times.”

“I hope that I can use this experience and do a little bit of good in the world, and that is what I intend to do,” Gomas went on. “I hope that you guys can accept my apology and I can begin to move on with my life.”

At the end of her video, a caption read: “Join me on my journey of promoting positive mental health and standing up against cyberbullying.” A link to her website was included, which, so far, only includes the same response video.

The video was the first time Gomas posted on X, formerly known as Twitter. She has since garnered nearly 50,000 followers.
