Angel Studios, the distributor of Sound of Freedom, announced that investors in the film received a 120% return on their investment thanks to the film’s strong box office showing.
Sound of Freedom’s budget for prints and advertising marketing was supported through Angel Studios’s crowdfunding model. A total of 6,678 people, who are called the Angel Guild, contributed toward the film’s launch.

Angel Studios CEO Neal Harmon told the Washington Examiner that those who invested in Sound of Freedom earlier this spring have received $1.20 for every $1 invested.
“We are thrilled to be able to get funds back to them in three months,” Harmon said. “The Angel Guild is key to our theatrical strategy and paying out as quickly as possible is always our first priority.”
The movie, released in theaters on July 4, details the true story of how former federal agent Tim Ballard quit his Department of Homeland Security job and risked his life to journey into the jungles of Colombia to save children from sex slavery.
