Customers had packed the store when the suspects entered and used pepper spray to subdue the employees, a witness purportedly told police.

They then utilized a sledgehammer to smash jewelry cases and snatch product.

The exact worth of the jewelry stolen has yet to be confirmed, and multiple people were treated for injuries related to pepper spray, the report noted.

“It’s awful, it’s just unreal how people are reacting,” Naoimi Reese of northeast Philadelphia said.
