President Joe Biden promoted a clip from the first Republican National Committee debate showing Nikki Haley blaming Republicans for their part in the United States’s spending and state of the economy.

Haley, in a rare moment, shifted the blame from Biden to her fellow Republicans regarding the national debt and spending — prompting Biden to post “What she said” on X.

UP FOR DEBATE: WHERE TRUMP, DESANTIS, AND REST OF REPUBLICAN 2024 FIELD STAND ON KEY ISSUES

“The truth is that Biden didn’t do this to us. Our Republicans did this to us when they passed that $2.2 trillion COVID stimulus bill,” Haley said. “They left us with 90 million people on Medicaid, 42 million people on food stamps. No one has told you how to fix it.”

“They need to eliminate the earmarks that the Republicans brought back in, and they need to make sure they understand these are taxpayer dollars,” Haley added. “It’s not their dollars, and while they’re all saying this, you have Ron DeSantis, you got Tim Scott, you’ve got Mike Pence — they all voted to raise the debt, and Donald Trump added 8 trillion to our debt, and our kids are never gonna forgive us for this.”

Haley’s comments were well-received by the audience, with the former South Carolina governor receiving loud applause multiple times throughout the night.

She also took other direct hits at Trump during the debate, particularly when discussing Trump’s criminal cases. Haley said that, while she would support Trump if he is convicted, it is time for a “new generational leader” in 2024.

“We have to look at the fact that three-quarters of Americans don’t want a rematch between Trump and Biden,” Haley said. “And we have to face the fact that Trump is the most disliked politician in America. We can’t win a general election that way.”
