At least four people are dead after Chicago’s latest weekend of violence saw almost 50 people shot.
Roughly 47 people were shot on the streets of Chicago over the weekend, the Chicago Police Department said.
Thirteen of those shootings occurred during a five-hour window from Sunday night to Monday morning, according to a report.

Those killed in the weekend’s bloodshed include a 36-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man who were shot in the head on the sidewalk, a 22-year-old who died in a drive-by shooting, and a 30-year-old man who was gunned down while sitting on his porch.
The two people who died on the sidewalk of Chicago’s South Side were killed during two different incidents, according to the report.
An 11-year-old girl was wounded in the leg while standing outside after midnight on Monday, police said.

At least five others were shot during a Friday night mass shooting in which a gunman opened fire in a parking lot, authorities said.
