Former President Donald Trump denounced the implementation of automatic voter registration in Pennsylvania.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump blasted “Radical Left” Gov. Josh Shapiro (D-PA), who implemented automatic voter registration last week. The new law will automatically register citizens to vote once they get their driver’s license. It has come under heavy criticism from Republicans.

“Pennsylvania is at it again! The Radical Left Governor, Josh Shapiro, has just announced a switch to Automatic Voter Registration, a disaster for the Election of Republicans, including your favorite President, ME!” Trump wrote. “This is a totally Unconstitutional Act, and must be met harshly by Republican Leadership in Washington and Pennsylvania.”

He then tied the issue to his other troubles, urging them to focus on repealing the act rather than working on “meaningless” Republican debates. The former president included individual swipes at his Republican rivals, debuting a new nickname for his former ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley.

“Pennsylvania, Michigan, Georgia, Arizona, Wisconsin, and others, are far more important than ‘Aida,’ Sloppy Chris, Lyin’ Mike Pence, Nikki ‘Birdbrain’ Haley, Ron (‘Dead Campaign’) DeSanctimonious, and the others,” he wrote. “Start suing now, & get the right lawyers this time! The Pennsylvania Republican Party must likewise not let this happen. It will be a disaster for our Nation, which is being destroyed by these Lunatics, Marxists, & Fascists, whose only real ability is to CHEAT on Elections. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Shapiro was quick to respond, calling Trump “dangerous.”

Trump’s “obsession with spreading lies about our elections is dangerous,” Shapiro spokesman Manuel Bonder told Axios in a statement. “It is abundantly clear this commonsense, nonpartisan step to securely streamline voter registration and enhance election security is within the Governor’s executive authority.”
